More and more people are becoming aware of the wide range of health benefits of taking mushrooms as food, medicine, or supplement. Many have found them beneficial for supporting health in areas such as immune, brain, and digestive function, energy, blood-sugar regulation, and stress. In this intro to medicinal mushrooms Barefoot Brian will talk about key constituents found in mushrooms and methods to extract them for our use to benefit our health. As well we will look at 5 local mushrooms we can forage and learn specific health benefits of each one, how to identify, where to find them and how to sustainably harvest them. This will be an interactive presentation with samples and dried mushroom fruiting bodies to look at for aid in identifying.
