CDKL5 Canada Walk for a Cure

11:00am - 2:00pm
Location: Bayview Park Pavilion, Thornbury

  • Join us to celebrate CDKL5 Awareness Day and raise money to support CDKL5 research.
  • Local resident Brynn Ladly has CDKL5 Deficiency Disorder.
  • It is a devasting rare disease that is hallmarked by uncontrolled seizures. Other symptoms include neuro developmental delays, most individuals are non verbal and unable to sit, stand or walk.
  • Wear green and celebrate by attending. 
  • Enjoy live entertainment by Bored of Education
  • AXED mobile trailer will be there
  • Participate in the 2km walk
  • Have a lunch provided by the Thornbury Bakery
  • Presentation by a CDKL5 Sceintist.

Adults $25, under 14 $5.

Mushroom Remedies and Uses with Barefoot Brian

More and more people are becoming aware of the wide range of health benefits of taking mushrooms as food, medicine, or supplement. Many have found them beneficial for supporting health in areas such as immune, brain, and digestive function, energy, blood-sugar regulation, and stress. In this intro to medicinal mushrooms Barefoot Brian will talk about key constituents found in mushrooms and methods to extract them for our use to benefit our health. As well we will look at 5 local mushrooms we can forage and learn specific health benefits of each one, how to identify, where to find them and how to sustainably harvest them. This will be an interactive presentation with samples and dried mushroom fruiting bodies to look at for aid in identifying. Registration is required.
